I can relate. I actually know a Southern gentleman who stepped over the M/D Line once. He had a quite charming 'twang.' He even admitted that his venture into Northern territory was a pleasant trip and he found Northern folk quite hospitable.

This certainly sounds 'different.' I was waiting for a testimonial, but I'll go for it myself tomorrow morning. I'll let the family critique and let you know.

Whirlwind - I'm going to try that recipe. I get my okra from Acme but I have a question. If you can't get the okra on yourself (any exposed skin) how do you go about fixing it? Do you run a sink full of water and wash the 'fur' off? The okra in…

I submit my testimony for the sauerkraut and pork. What kind of dumplings? I make the drop kind. Mmmm. Gotta' try those spam and brat ideas. Say, what's so funny about the '25% less fat bacon' math? (Bonde, indeed!)

Forget your ribs - this is stick-to-your-hips food!

I use Splenda in everything in place of sugar. The low carb diets are good in that we reduce or eliminate a lot of processed and enriched foods and eat better, but it is too hard to stick to religiously. The real key is still fatty foods. Reducin…

Here's the best article and recipe! Well worth the reading. x:9

With the exception of Cottage (5) and Velveeta (3), most all other cheeses contain only 1-2 carb grams per ounce, which is, as you know, infinitessimal. Eight to twelve mixed nuts contains 3 to 6, depending. Nuts can be a killer if you start loading…

I would recommend that you not get sucked in by things like 'low carb chocolate', 'low carb brown flour' and 'low carb snack cakes' of any sort and 'low carb bread'. The best way to get serious about low carb weight loss is to stay entirely away fro…

WOCO: Don't you just love these women who ask these rhetorical questions? the whole point of the low carb diet is to eliminate the crust! this sounds great. Think I'll try it. But may cut the recipe in half....three pounds of meat and 3 of cheese...…

Some people use hamburger patties as salisbury steak;I use cubed beef steak. Salt and pepper the steaks generously and roll in flour. Shake off excess flour and place in a skillet with preheated vegetable oil. (Just enough oil to cover the bottom…

LAST EDITED ON 08-20-03 AT 07:00PM (CST)[p]One of my life-regrets is that I have never made biscuits. I knew I could not outdo my mother or my wife, so I just never tried. I will try this.

SHEPPARD'S PIE Brown 1 lb. of ground beef and drain. Mix in one can Cream of Mushroom soup. Spray casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray. Transfer meat mixture to dish and spread on the bottom. Add 2 cans of drained mixed vegetables and sprea…

Whirlwind and Mentel.... How much ground flax seed and how often during the day to get results like that?

Aaaarrrgghh!!! You mean it's out of date already?!? x:'( I can handle the technical aspect of updating the web pages, but I won't have time to compile all of the new recipes on an ongoing basis. (I'm still looking for those elves who obviously help…

It sounds like the perfect FRIDAY night drink. This has been a LOOOOOOOONG week!

Bob Evans restaurants did, indeed originate in Ohio (as did I). After moving to Maryland, it was one of the things I missed the most. I often threaten to leave HR and become a waitress at Bob Evans - great food, great tips, and no "complain here" …

It will get all over your fries, and it is good - never tried it on a potato, but with some melted cheese on the potato, too, I bet it would work!

That's a very cute card.

>What happened to the "good old days" when, if you bought a house and you >didn't have 20% down, you were required to buy mortgage insurance and keep it >until you had at least 20% equity? Those days still exist - or at least they did i…

I have been able to use the new link up until today. Now it clocks on me and won't load. Are you guys having issues or is it me??

Haha. Thanks, Paul, but sadly, I've been unable to confirm or deny whether Ray's friend was exposed to the test. Snopes doesn't have this one covered, so I'll be playing the part of Snopes today, and my determination on this one is: Probably True…

Ray, I am so sorry. My comment was in no way directed at you; I know you have an open mind and a willingness to allow others to express their ideas. xhugs People, even here at work, are far less tolerant and believe that everyone should feel the sa…

Marina, I would hope that no one would berate you over what is ultimately a personal choice. Everyone has to look at the issues and vote the way they believe is best for America. As long as we are all doing that - then I for one think it is great we…

I love Europe and go whenever I can. That time I took my 3 nephews (who only wanted to sleep during the day). It was what I kindly refer to as the "Trip from he!!". Trying to get around London was really difficult because of the Tour and Wimbledon a…
